CHESTNUT GARDENS

This development of nine detached dwellings was built by Triton Construction for developers YorPlace and Square Feet on the site of the former Shipley Glen Pleasure Ground, adjacent to the surviving Cable Tramway. The proximity to the Saltaire World Heritage Site necessitated the requirement for a defined impact assessment as part of the planning submission. The traditional materials palette of natural slate, stone and paving, together with timber doors and windows, was carefully selected for the area. The houses maximise the potential of the steeply sloping site by offering 4-storey living accommodation, with front doors effectively at first floor level. A high quality internal specification was hand-picked to meet the needs of a modern lifestyle for a wide range of potential purchasers.
